The Alex Tjoland Band is a United Methodist band based at Christ UMC in Warner Robins, GA. We play Christian music, originals and covers. Our goal is to glorify God while doing what we love!

It doesn’t get anymore self explanatory then that. The band has a very “Church Worship Band” quality to their music. It reminded me of the band that played at my youth group when I was a teenager. Maybe a bit more rock and roll though.

In the mix we have some classic Christmas tunes and some original music that gives the album a boost. From the rocky Blind Man track that reminds me of Grand Ole Party to the Surf’s Up, Santa Clause tune that is more reminiscent of the surf stuff the O.C. Supertones did awhile back.

In any case, it all really sounds great. The vocals range form pretty basic worship music style to classic rock and contemporary. The band supplies the album with a satisfactory backing sound that isn’t explosive, but it’s a Christmas album.

The only real gripe I would have is around 3:05 on the albums title track we get a change up of frequency in the mix. It would otherwise go unnoticed to anyone simply enjoying the music, but all the same. A very proper Christmas album that goes a step beyond just the contemporary stuff you’ll be bombarded with over the holidays.
