What Team Am I On?

The Hawks (of Holy Rosary) are a pop-punk band from San Antonio. Their second album, “What Team Am I On?” is set to be released on July 22nd. Every member of the band takes some part in the vocals because they love their three-part harmonies. They do a great job of mixing pop, punk, and rock to create a playful sound to match their personalities and the band’s overall distinct look.

The vocals on the album were impressive and the strongest part of the whole album. Having a whole band that can sing and harmonize together is a rare feat in the current music industry, but these guys manage to pull it off like professionals. However, I felt the instrumentals and the pacing of the album was a bit too slow and redundant for me. I would have liked to have seen how The Hawks (of Holy Rosary) fare in faster and much slower songs because most of the album felt mid-tempo and safe. Other than that, they had some interesting ideas and concepts for songs, but would like to see more variety from them next time around. For those reasons, I am giving this album a “C.”
