DID YOU KNOW?

Helena Bonham Carter was in three of the 10 top grossing films of 2010, including Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter.

It has exploded in theaters. It demolished its' competition at the Oscars earlier this year. Now, The King's Speech will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray for all to add to their collections. There's no question that the film itself is deeply enjoyable, but how does the quality of the film carry over from theaters to our own television screen?

Let out a sigh of relief, as the Blu-Ray disc of The King's Speech is phenomenal. The crisp 1080p picture is simply beautiful. Without this great quality, the scenes that Director Tom Hooper shot would go criminally unnoticed. While every wrinkle and color fills the screen, the majority of beauty is in the background. There's a specific scene in the beginning where Bertie (Colin Firth) is filling his mouth with marbles where one can see dust flying past the sunlit window behind the cast. These are the moments captured on film that make The King's Speech a rare treat on and off of a Blu-Ray player.

The best Blu-Ray films are almost always accompanied by a handful of intriguing special features. The King's Speech is not the richest of special features in quantity. However, each feature is extremely enjoyable and draws its' audience in deeper to the story of Bertie, Lionel (Geoffrey Rush) and Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter). The most enjoyable of these is access to listen to the actual speeches given by the original King George VI. Features like this are the rarest to find and most interesting to watch. The complete list of special features are listed below:

- Audio Commentary With Director Tom Hooper

-Making of Featurette: An Inspirational Story of An Unlikely Friendship

-Q&A With The Director and The Cast

-Speeches From The Real King George VI

-The Real Lionel Logue Highlights

Along with the incredibly astounding film that it is, The King's Speech is a fantastic watch on Blu-Ray and has some of the best special features one can find on most releases.
