We, Without Wings is an anime based on a visual novel game with a main focus on a group of young adults and the relationships they form with each other. The entire series is narrated by radio personality DJ Condor who gives an overview of each episode at the beginning and what’s to come at the end.

Just like the game, the anime is primarily focused on the relationships between characters as they go about their everyday lives. There’s also this strange alternate universe where everyone is some kind of fantasy warrior. It’s very weird, especially because it doesn’t fully come into the picture until the later episodes and before that it simply seems like random action scenes that come completely out of left field.

The thing about We, Without Wings is that there is nothing special about it. The characters aren’t all that likeable and the situations they find themselves in are rather dull. One guy spends a few episodes helping a girl find her bike. Another is writing a review of a book about the life of a porn star. There’s nothing particularly interesting about the anime and unless you are already a fan of the visual novel, there isn’t any reason as to why you should be watching it.
