What I liked about Alex & The Kaleidoscope Band’s album, I’m so Glad is that it was plain out fun. Humorous storytelling, lots of chances for kids and their parents to participate in the songs or actions of the songs, and it had a tinge of educational fun attached to it. I also liked the use of sounds from pop to even a Caribbean influence. I was reminded of some old Ska and Reggae bands that I used to listen to. More importantly the album is performed without the music or words sounding patronizing towards kids and it won’t make you want to pull your hair out when your kids ask to listen to it repeatedly. It’s just an all together good time album that kids will love and can help bring a family together to just have a silly fun time. I highly suggest.
