Artist: Herb Alpert & Lani Hall Album: Anything Goes Genre: Jazz Label: Concord Jazz Tracks: 14 Type: LP Release Date: August 18, 2009 Rating: ( )Grade: A- Jazz trumpet player Herb Alpert teams up with his wife/singer Lani Hall to bring us a jazzy duet filled with rhythmic tones and smooth beats in the live performance album Anything Goes. The album is filled with tracks from their performances all across the country; some duets, some purely instrumentals. One thing that does remain constant throughout is the essence of the music. All the songs are upbeat and decently fast paced. These are some great jazz tunes to listen to whether you're on the go or just want to relax. Also, it doesn't sound like a live performance at all. Everything is really clear and doesn't have that raw sounding effect when some things are recorded live. It also flows well despite being taken from different performances everywhere. Anything Goes is a well put together album that everyone can enjoy, whether you like Jazz music or not. Definitely check this one out if you have the opportunity. |
