Jasmine Ash is a singer and songwriter from Portland, OR. Her fourth album is entitled, “Beneath the Noise” and it was released on Valentines’ Day 2012. Her songs have been featured on numerous TV shows (Ugly Betty, The Hills, The Good Wife) and commercials (JC Penney, Ipad, Ferrero Rocher). She has a lot of talent and this album does a great job of showcasing what Jasmine is capable of.

“Beneath the Noise” is a great album with a lot of emotions, good variety, and the ability to make you move. Jasmine’s angelic voice coupled with the great instrumentals paint a vivid mental picture as you listen to each song. She has great range and you can feel that she projects all of herself into every note she sings. All the songs sounded great and varied by style (pop, alternative, rock, Motown), tempo (slow, mid, or upbeat), vibe, and content. “Beneath the Noise” is a well-rounded album that not only made you feel good, but also made you want to either dance, tap your feet, or snap your fingers. With all the emotion each song emits, I can see why her songs were used so much in the other media outlets.

I really enjoyed listening to the album and could not find any flaws. My favorite songs were “Starlight,” because it was an overall complete and fun song, and “Lulls,” because Jasmine sounded like a hardcore Michelle Branch. Jasmine has a lot of talent and will go far in the music business if she continues to release high quality albums like “Beneath the Noise.” I highly recommend this album and I plan to tell all my family and friends about her. For those reasons, I am giving this album an “A.”
