When Jeanne (played by Sophia Marceau) tries to write a fiction novel instead of her normal biographies she finds out that it’s not that easy. Her life gets turned upside down when the book is turned down but that was only the tip of the iceberg. Changes start to appear around her, first just small things such as her kitchen table being in a different location but soon she starts seeing everything looking different, even herself. Slowly her world shifts on it’s axes where nothing is the same. She has a different husband, her children are different and before her eyes she even changes. Jeanne (played by Monica Bellucci) now must go through her own life in a different body, looking through someone else’s eyes so she can find out what is causing all the changes in Don’t Look Back.

Don’t Look Back, man what a confusing movie this was. This woman is going insane, or at first you think she is but then you think that maybe she’s not, maybe all this is really happening. Eyes are changing color, tables are being moved around, rooms go from looking cozy and normal to being cluttered with all kinds of junk, and faces change right before your eyes.

The whole time I watched Don’t Look Back I just wanted something to be told to me. I was seeing all the changes, the confusion in the character, and even felt sorry for her to be seeing her life that she once thought she knew vanish to be replaced by someone else’s life. But after over an hour of watching this movie I was wanting to know why this was happening. Was this woman really going nuts, was she some delusional woman that was now living out one of her stories, or was there some deep dark conspiracy going on around her?

Don’t Look Back was just a confusing movie, one that’s in subtitles making it even more confusing, that seemed to go on for a little too long. Regardless of the speed the story was going at, this movie had me intrigued. I wanted to know what was really going on. From the start to the finish I was impressed with this film. What most impressed me were the effects of seeing how the character of Jeanne being played by Sophie Marceau slowly change into the character of Jeanne being played by Monica Bellucci. Yeah I know confusing but the effects were great because at first I really didn’t notice the change until it was right there in my face or I should say in her face(s) that there was a change.

Though the effects wasn’t the only part that makes this movie good. The two lead actors, Sophie Marecau and Monica Bellucci give a great performance of these woman that are having this happen to them. And though the subtitles are not the funniest thing to read having the movie in a different language added to the intrigue. Don’t Look Back turned out being better than I was expecting it would be. Though what I liked the most was that I couldn't just guess what was happening from the start and had to watch till the end to learn the answers that I wanted.
