I’d gone my whole life without seeing either of the Legally Blonde films starring Academy Award Winner Reese Witherspoon and I’ve slept relatively well at night. In this sequel Witherspoon is back as Elle Woods and she’s on an animal rights mission. Needless to say, after watching this train wreck of a film, I’m thankful that, even though this was a box office hit, we weren’t punished with yet another sequel (only a television show that I never knew existed until today and a Direct-to-DVD film which didn‘t not continue the story of Elle Woods, only the cringe inducing style of the film). In any case for those people who helped make this a hit during its theatrical run this is a fairly decent upgrade which, I’ve read, is a plus over its DVD predecessor.

QUALITY:
The transfer makes mostly good on the vibrant color scheme of Elle Woods fantasy world where gibberish and shenanigans makes for motivating congressmen and women to put down their newspapers and wake from their naps to do good. Unfortunately there is a tad bit of grain that managed to slip through the cracks and backgrounds in some scenes have a darkish hue to them overly exaggerating the already blown out vibrancy of the hot pink numbers Witherspoon wears throughout. Definition isn’t all it should be, and I’ve noticed this problem in a few of the recent MGM releases like Material Girls. In more superior BD releases you can count on a good amount of definition giving light to facial features like pores, hairs, and line definition. Here not so much. Your given a boost from the films DVD predecessor so it’s a plus if you enjoyed the film or are simply a completionist looking to close out Legally Blonde 1 & 2. Audio is solid offering up a good mix of dialogue clarity, an un-interruptive music mix, and good ambient sound.

BONUS FEATURES:
Another good plus for the release is this hefty supplement section which provides new bonus feature content not found on the Special Edition DVD. Only problem is that all of the bonus features excluding the films trailer are in standard definition.
