Factoid:

Both of the stars in the film come from successful television comedies. America Ferrera in Ugly Betty and Lance Gross in Tyler Perry's House of Payne.

Our Family Wedding looked as if it was going to be one of those fantastic little films where two cultures collide and in the end love triumphs over all but with an everything but the kitchen sink script it just falls short and tries to make up for the uncomfortable awkwardness of it all by making its characters way to over the top. Forest Whitaker is insanely over the top and Carlos Mencia completely underused. The cast included a whose who of comedy television as well which makes it all the more shocking; Charlie Murphy (Chappell’s Show), Anjelah N. Johnson (Madtv), Noel Gugliemi (Bruce Almighty), and more. Anyway if you loved it, like I know some of you did, then you’ll be happy to know that buying it on Blu-Ray is going to be well worth the money. If only this film had been shot during Bernie Mac's lifetime with George Lopez playing America Ferrera's Father. It is what it is I guess.

QUALITY:
Absolutely flawless. The colors are rich, the crispness incredibly defined, and Audio, which is a lonely 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track, is incredibly clear and well toned. Everything about this product is amazing, well, except for the story itself.

BONUS FEATURES:
*Deleted Scenes well worth checking out if not for the one scene where the families meet the wedding planner…ahem…excuse me the Auteur.
*Extended Scene. Not really much to see here but you might want to check out the extended scene for Forest Whitaker and Regina King.
*Til Dad’s Do Us Part. Really just a featurette on the film which has everyone from the cast to the director talking about the many cultural traditions involved in weddings and a few musings on what love is.
*Gag Reel. Nothing great here.
*Trailer
*Digital Copy
