Dean Cain, the host of Ripley's Believe it or Not!, stars in this western about hustlers, invading troops, and girls. Just look at the title and you'll know what I'm talking about.

The film focuses around a con man who ends up winning half a ranch in a game of poker. This doesn't sit well with the owner of the other half as everything is divided between the two. Things get even worse when the lovely Liz Calhoun comes into the picture. Eventually, our con man learns what it means to be a man when the Mexican army approaches and plans to rape and pillage the nearby village. Does he flee, leaving everyone behind to fend for themselves, or does he stay and fight?

It's easy to tell that this is a Hallmark Channel movie. The set, the costumes, the acting; it all screams low budget. It's almost like watching one of those history films in school way back when. Still, despite all these, it's actually enjoyable to watch. The story is interesting enough and there's even a bit of comedy to keep things fresh.

The interactions between Shea and B.J. are great, seeing as they are completely opposites. Allison Hossack as Liz on the other hand, is quite a buzzkill. She's not that interesting to begin with and when she's on screen, you just want her to leave already.

The Gambler, the Girl and the Gunslinger is decent for what it is. It can drag on at times but overall, it's enjoyable. It looks like all the actors had fun making the film and the bonus features show that with interviews and behind the scenes footage. Check it out if you're looking for a Western to watch.
