Tsukimi is an awkward 18-year-old otaku girl who lives in an apartment complex with a bunch of other similar minded women. Suffice to say they aren’t exactly a hit with their male counterparts. That soon changes when Tsukimi runs into the stylish Kuranosuke, who just so happens to be a cross-dresser as well. Out of all the tenants, only she knows his true identity. All of the other women believe he is a her, as boys are not allowed in the building for some odd reason. Princess Jellyfish chronicles Kuranosuke’s attempt to turn these ugly ducklings into swans as well as save their apartment building from being turned into a high end hotel.

QUALITY:
Princess Jellyfish looks great on Blu-ray. The four disc set covers the entire 11 episode series on both Blu-ray and DVD so you can always have the anime on hand no matter where you are which is nice. The visuals are stylish and often mimic the fashion sense of the main characters, especially Kuranosuke. It’s also not afraid to be a little abstract with characters often breaking the fourth wall or literally turning to stone from embarrassment.

There are a decent amount of bonus features included in the Complete Series set and they’re worth checking out if you’re a fan of the series. There’s also the usual fanfare of trailers, songs and videos that are typical to all anime releases. Overall, Princess Jellyfish is a decent anime worth checking out. The whole series only lasts 11 episodes so it won’t take too long to watch from start to finish.
