Brothers Sid & Marty Krofft have been producing family entertainment for fifty years. They became a household name in the 70’s with a string of hit shows that featured elaborate sets and fanciful characters. This special compilation DVD includes some of Sid & Marty’s favorite episodes from seven of their most beloved series. Including episodes from ElectraWoman and DynaGirl, Bigfoot and Wildboy, and Wonderbug never before released on DVD.

Most of us are familiar with Sid & Marty Krofft’s shows weather or not we grew up watching them when they were new or caught them after we were born and were mesmerized by how bizarre they were. As I sat through the whopping two and a half hours worth of Krofft shows I was perplexed but also impressed. The wackiness of H.R. PUFNSTUF really made me question what people were thinking back then in the 70’s. Truly bizarre. Then a show like Bugaloos comes on and I am incredibly impressed with the music, the incredible come to life stage drops, even the acting which wasn’t as terrible as you would have imagined. Lidsville I could have done without and Bigfoot & Wildboy, which plays on the whole Bionic Man thing to much. It’s Bigfoot people, seriously. Wow does that sentence sound strange? Anyway Wonderbug was great if not only to remind me of some great cartoons I used to watch as a kid like Wheelie and the Chopper Gang or Speedbuggy. Good times. ElectraWoman and DynaGirl was also a bit strange but the sets were cool. Finally Sigmund & The Seamonsters was a bit odd but reminded me more of a Jim Henson type show with a lot of real world backdrops and interesting puppets interacting with humans. I mean most of the shows on here were like that but Sigmund seemed to be the closest to that formula. The only real complaint, I mean if you bought this DVD, would be the quality of the picture. Bigfoot had a line running through the credits for a bit and scratches on the film are prominent when they show. In any case you get what you get and for most fans you’ll get exactly what you remembered picture and all. Enjoy.
