Sandra Bullock is to receive the Generation Award, MTV’s highest honor, at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards June 6, to recognize Bullock’s two-decade-long career in Hollywood. This past year, Bullock starred as Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side, a financially successful film which followed the impoverished-turned-successful upbringing of offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens, Michael Oher. For her performance, Bullock was awarded a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, and the Academy Award for Best Actress. These successes, as well as a past of playing diverse roles varying from sweethearts to con artists, have earned Bullock an admirable place in Hollywood, as well as this year’s Generation Award. Bullock will receive the honor on Sunday, June 6, at 9pm ET during the MTV Movie Awards, which will be hosted by Aziz Ansari. Past recipients of this honor include Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, and Jim Carrey.
