LeBron James Makes Decision — to Join Twitter

'Huawei': A foreshadowing name?

Chinesepod's Carlie discusses the meaning of the name 'Huawei' in light of the recent national security concerns of the Whitehouse

He hasn’t yet chosen where he will sign, but LeBron James now has another platform to announce his decision when he makes it. The superstar free agent opened an account Tuesday on the social networking site Twitter, reports the Associated Press. James’ publicist Keith Estabrook confirmed that the moniker ‘kingjames’ belongs to the forward. It is unknown whether James will post his own messages or have someone else do it for him. James has been reluctant to join social networking sites in the past, poking fun at other athletes for discussing their personal lives on websites like Facebook and Twitter. It was New Orleans Hornets star Chris Paul who convinced James to open the account. The point guard, who is one of James’ closest friends, made a post on his own Twitter saying that while he couldn’t persuade James to tell him which team he would sign with, he did convince him to sign up for Twitter. “**Couldn't convince him to tell me which team he's goin to but convinced him to join twitter lol...my brother from another mother @KINGJAMES,” the post read. James had more than 18,000 followers less than an hour after Paul’s tweet. As of 1:40pm PT, James had 96,506 followers. The two-time MVP, whose bio on the site reads “King of Akron,” made his first tweet at around 1:20pm PT. “Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building "Finally". My Brother @oneandonlycp3 gas'd me up to jump on board so I'm here. Haaaa,” he wrote.
