Sky Sweetnam - Noise From The Basement 2.87 (out of 4.00)
by Josh Newhouse
Calling Skye Sweetnam may be a little rude. Skyes music is more complicated (no pun intended) and her skills are more honed than that of her other teen counterpart. Not to say that Skye cant use a little work.

Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz - What U Gon Do 3.04 (out of 4.00)
by BT Wood
Nothing new here. Just the same Lil Jon we have all grown to know and love. Is it just me or is Lil Jon purposely over doing the catch phrases since Dave Chapelle started mimicking him?

Kenny Wayne Shepherd - The Place Your In 2.96 (out of 4.00)
by Trevor Kosecki
No band, just Kenny and a few guest spots. Shepherds guitar is amazing as usual but the vocals (including Kid Rock and Noah Hind) sometimes drown it out making The Place Your In seem incomplete at times.

Chronic Future - Lines In My Face 3.42 (out of 4.00)
by BT Wood
Chronic Future seems to be saviors of a dying genre that Limp Bizkit have all but killed. Mixing the talents of early Bizkit and Eminem with the grittyness of early DMC.

Bjork - Medulla 3.05 (out of 4.00)
by Justin Anthony
Throughout time, critics have jumped on the chance to praise albums just for being different. Bjork is different, that is no question. But Medulla exceeds anything prior. This all-vocal album is annoying at times and sweetly annoying at others.

Nas - Bridging the Gap 3.80 (out of 4.00)
by BT Wood
Nas is and has been one of the most talented songwriters of our time. Arguably, exceeding the talents of Jay-Z and Kanye West, Nas one ups himself on Bridging The Gap.

Wake Up Everybody - Compilation 0.94 (out of 4.00)
by Johnny, The World
The cause is great, the effort is not. The title track performed by a slew of artists including Bilal, Brandy, Eve, Fabolous, Jamie Foxx, Missy Elliott and more is the only salvageable track. A very wandering and seemingly rushed political album.

The Finn Brothers - Everyone Is Here 3.00 (out of 4.00)
by Toby Blake
New Order is back! OK, not really but their core has returned. Everyone is Here is not quite as poppy or as new wave as one might hope but the effort exceeds expectations.

Bowling For Soup - A Hangover You Dont Deserve 3.07 (out of 4.00)
by Johnny, The World
After their Emmy nomination, BFS decided not to waste any time and jumped back into the studio with Butch Walker. Happy drunken pop at its best, A Hangover doesnt quite match up to their debut but I wouldnt kick it out of bed.

Megadeth - The System Has Failed 2.95 (out of 4.00)
by Josh Newhouse
Surprisingly, this CD isnt so bad. The story has been told a million times; 80s band break up and reform years later with only one original member. Luckily, singer Dave Mustaine was the obvious lone talent (or control freak) as they are still kicking out the same sound. Thats your decision if thats a good thing or not.

Mary Had A Little Amp - Musics Biggest Stars Childhoods Greatest Songs 1.94 (out of 4.00)
by Toby Blake
Biggest stars? Dave Matthews, Dixie Chicks, R.E.M., Indigo Girls? Maybe 5 years ago. Greatest Songs? OK, theres Rainbow Connection, When You Wish Upon A Star and Pure Imagination but the rest are a stretch. Im sure there was reasoning behind this CD, but Im pressed to find it.

Skinny Puppy - The Greatest Wrong Of The Right 2.78 (out of 4.00)
by Trevor Kosecki
Political statement? Perhaps, but what isnt these days. Skinny Puppys latest is an amalgam of sounds a distance from twhere they started years ago. Like KMFDM or MDFMK? Pick it up.

Vanessa Carlton - Harmonium 3.95 (out of 4.00)
by Josh Newhouse
In the non-violent battle of cute teen poptresses, Vanessa Carlton breaks free of Michelle Branch and buries her. Harmonium ups the ante and completely obliterates anything either artist has released to date.

Usher - Confessions (Special Edition) 3.30 (out of 4.00)
by BT Wood
Confessions is back with additional tracks including the duet with Alicia Keys My Boo and the remix of Confessions Part II with Shyne, Kanye West and Twista. This doesnt quite size up to Ushers previous effort but the crooner still blasts out an amazing R&B; album.

Marilyn Manson - Lest We Forget (The Best Of) 3.49 (out of 4.00)
by Johnny, The World
Great collection of songs but kind of disappointing on two things; 1. The new single Personal Jesus is a cover songs, a good cover but cover nonetheless and 2. No DVD of videos. I kind of expected that since they are hard to get a hold of. Overall though, a good collection of classic Manson tracks.

Korn - Greatest Hits (Volume 1) 3.70 (out of 4.00)
by Johnny, The World
Again, like Mansons Greatest Hits, Korn decided to do a new cover song, choosing Pink Floyds anthemic Another Brick In The Wall, but Korn DID include a DVD, just not the one we were looking for. Instead of including their amazing videos, this DVD is a live show at CBGBs.

Mean Girls - Soundtrack 2.90 (out of 4.00)
by Josh Newhouse
No, this is not an old release. For some reason, Ryko decided not to release this soundtrack when the flick as in theaters, you know, so it would actually sell a copy or two. The compilation is extremely wandering but has a few key tracks like Pink, The Donnas and Pierre Henry to make up for it.

And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Worlds Apart 2.89 (out of 4.00)
by Josh Newhouse
The buzz is heavy on this one since their debut shot out of nowhere to become one of the most critically acclaimed CDs of the year. Worlds Apart is a beautiful slice of rock and almost classical with a hint of British Pop.

Keb Mo - PeaceBack By Popular Demand 3.65 (out of 4.00)
by BT Wood
Keb Mo is releasing an amazing peaceful CD in a time when we need it most, a time of war. Aside from covering some of the best peace songs ever written, like and Imagine. Keb Mo also kicks out his original sound on the extremely poignant and uplifting People. Hands down, one of the best political CDs of the year.

Sum 41 - Chuck 3.55 (out of 4.00)
by Johnny, The World
Sum 41s first big CD was a little poppy. Their second CD was more rock and it didnt do as well. Fortunately, that didnt phase these Canadians as Chuck is the heaviest and best set yet. Unfortunately, that probably means sales will run lower than both the last two and that just should be. So, pick it up, enjoy it and shut up. Pop is over.
