Every style of music will always have someone that loves it and someone that don't, add in that it can be liked one day and hated the next, are just a few reasons why a review for music is not easy. One such case is the soundtrack, Star Trek: Music From The Video Game. That's right, it's a video game sound track. Soundtracks enhance a moment, whether it be in a movie, show, or video game, it's purpose is to make whatever is happening better. Would I know if this is the case while playing the Star Trek video game? No, because I've never played it so I don't know what the songs do for the game play but I do know what they sound like.

Being a person that likes the television shows and movies, I was wondering what kind of sound was going to be used for the video game. If you know the shows/movies then you will know the music or at least can guess what kind of style the music will be. The songs being played use a lot of horns and some sort of chime while keeping with the operatic style of the show. Of course the first track is one that has the main Star Trek theme playing at the start but then it turns into a different song shortly after. It's not a bad sound, it keeps with the sound of being a big moment that's happening.

Usually I'm not a fan of video game soundtracks because they can feature songs that are loud and kind of chaotic as well as short so they fit with the game. This one however are songs that if I didn't know that it was a video game soundtrack I would say where songs from the show or movies. The songs are well played, they are fun, and they have a feeling of space opera. They do use a lot of the main theme throughout the songs but it's something that never gets old. The only thing I found that I didn't like was that as I was listening to the songs I ended up wanting to watch Star Trek (which by the way is very easy to do since so many channels has the show being aired). It's a well played, fun, and enjoyable soundtrack for a video game, one that I was surprised that was this good.

<div class="field field-name-field-review
