Celine Dion recently revealed that she was originally supposed to have triplets, according to E! Online. However, she unfortunately lost one of the babies early in the pregnancy.
Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil, interviewed with a French news station. During the in-depth interview, the talked about their twins, Eddy and Nelson, and also revealed that the third child did not make it because its heart stopped beating.
"He chose to let go to give space to his brothers to grow," Dion explained.
Dion has been public about her struggle to conceive. On October 27, she gave birth to fraternal twins, Eddy and Nelson, who were born prematurely but are healthy.
Despite the devastating loss of the third child, the couple remain optimistic and happy about parenthood.
Angelil and Dion were married in 1994. They are also parents to 9-year-old Rene-Charles.
The twins and Dion were released from the hospital on Wednesday.
“They do look alike,” Rene admitted to Etalk earlier in the week. “But maybe they won’t look alike in a few months because they are not identical twins.”
