For the second year in a row, Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart took home a Golden Popcorn statuette for “Best Kiss” at the MTV Movie Awards. But their clumsy embrace during last week’s acceptance speech left fans wondering whether the whole thing was a stunt. “It takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing,” Stewart joked as the Twilight duo accepted their award. The two actors spent the next few moments in a hilariously awkward, profanity-laced dance before Pattinson pulled her into a quick lip-lock. Pattinson probably didn’t help matters when he told MTV that he’d been coming up with goofy ideas all evening and nobody thought they were funny, so the two ended up with an awkward moment that “didn’t work.” "He wanted to be hula hooping with a match in his mouth,” Stewart told MTV, “and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other. It didn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. I was like, 'I can't juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.'" Actually, she didn’t make it that far before tripping on her way to the stage, although some considered it an improvement over last year, when she dropped the award statuette. But the slip and the kissing broke Stewart’s determination to stay cool and collected. “I got up there, and I was like, 'Chris directed the movie, and he's awesome. Thanks,' she said. “And I had to get off, like that."
