Twilight Thursdays! Vol. 1, Issue 40

 Bits of Breaking Dawn

It looks like Breaking Dawn WILL film in Brazil, despite reports of being scared away by gang violence. All Twilighters know the reason for filming in Brazil is to capture the Honeymoon night. This means we know that Robert & Kristen will be there, but whom else? And what else might happen? Twilight Lexicon deciphered some details from a Portuguese Twilight fansite.

Be warned there is a bit of a spoiler on how the scene in the water between Rob and Kristen will be shot assuming their info is accurate. To avoid the potential spoiler, we left it out of our translated bullet points, but you can see it on their site. (Remember: FoForks is in Portuguese not Spanish!)

·         Stephenie Meyer will be in Brazil

·         Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Sebastião Lemos and Virgüez Carolina (Kaure) are certain

·         Virgüez Carolina is a Colombian naturalized Brazilian actress with several awards and nominations under her belt

·         There is some unreliable information indicating Taylor may be coming

·         There is some purely speculative information that MacKenzie Foy may be coming

·         There have been lots of items obtained that are all pumping money into the economy of Brazil such as  helicopters, multiple armored cars, underwater cameras, not to mention all the actual equipment needed to film

·         It is unclear where the actors with be staying. Usually celebrities stay at the CopacabanaPalace. U2 and The Rolling Stones stayed there recently. However it would be a great distance from where filming would likely take place, so perhaps not. There is also speculation that this site might be used as interiors. Regardless of where they stay, security will be incredibly tight

·         3 different islands were scouted as possible locations, the area of LAPA might be a location, their information indicates a possible scene in a taxi where they need a busy place, with many people that is brightly lit.

·         Actual filming is scheduled for 4 and a half days with another day devoted just to the logistics of setting things up. This will begin on or around November 3rd

·         A warning is provided that people should not attempt to go to the airport or filming locations as the security is tight and being able to obtain an autograph or photos or to be any place near the actors in those specific locations is unlikely and arrival times and methods are highly subject to change (Lexicon Note: we are a little hazy on this last part, we think it’s because they are saying the armored cars and the possibility of private planes makes this unlikely)

Lee Pace of “Pushing Daisies” fame (personally one of my most favorite shows of all time. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and netflix that show immediately) talks about filming Breaking Dawn and how he’s already tried on his “red eyeballs”!

After the Eclipse
I know I don’t like to watch movies alone. They’re so much more fun with a friend! What if you could watch one of your favorite movies with one of your favorite stars? TwiCrack Addict has the details on how you can win a chance to watch Eclipse with Kellan Lutz!

This press release just in from the makers of Eclipse gum:
Fans of Eclipse gum and the Twilightmovies can now enter for a chance to spend an evening with Kellan Lutz, star of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The contest, which celebrates the movie’s upcoming DVD release, asks fans to submit a moment when they needed breath-freshening Eclipse gum at EclipseSecrets.com. A winner from all entries will be chosen to attend a private DVD viewing of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with the film’s star.

“Since The Twilight Saga: Eclipse first debuted, we’ve seen that people inherently associate the Eclipse gum brand and the film,” said Paul Chibe, Wrigley’s Vice President and General Manager U.S. Gum and Mints. “Not only do we share a name, but our two brands have passionate fans, making this partnership unique and relevant to our audience.”

Now through November 15, fans over the age of 18 can visit EclipseSecrets.com to talk about an embarrassing time when they wish they’d had Eclipse gum to freshen their breath. From all the moments submitted, the funniest, most creative and amusing tale will be chosen and the winner awarded a trip for two to Baton Rouge, for a one night stay and a private DVD viewing with Kellan.

The winner of the “Evening with Kellan” contest will be announced on November 29, 2010. Fans can learn more including official rules and regulations, at EclipseSecrets.com.

The contest is one part of a larger Eclipse gum promotion supporting the DVD release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Special Twilight-edition packs of Eclipse gum featuring images of characters from the film including the love triangle (Bella, Edward and Jacob), Cullen family, Bella, Wolf Pack and Volturi vampires are now available in retail locations nationwide.
Now through March 31, 2011, fans visiting EclipseSecrets.com can also enter their code from the special edition Twilight packs to unlock exclusive footage from the film. The Twilight Barbie dolls already on the market include "Bella," "Edward," "Jacob," "Alice," and "Victoria." When the announcement came down that the last two were on the way, fans commented here that they were interested in "Jane," "Alec," "Carlisle," "Rosalie," and others.

Chaske Spencer talks to Racebending about how Twilight has opened up his career, doors to other Native American actors, and using his fame for good!

RACEBENDING.COM: Do you feel your projects, especially the success of the Twilight franchise, are opening eyes in Hollywood? Or at least convincing them to make more contemporary roles available for Native actors?

CHASKE SPENCER: Well, yes, and no.

Hollywood has a very short memory. I still have to struggle. I’m still getting roles geared towards Native Americans, but they’re not great scripts so I have to navigate and find out what I really want to do. I have to see if the character is right, and the story is right, because I want to keep challenging myself as an artist.
I have to be picky and it’s hard to find good roles and good scripts. I think that’s why there’s a lot of crap being made out there in Hollywood but I think there are great stories and movies out there in the independent film world and I think that’s the way to go.

Plus, Twilight is so huge–I don’t know where I could go or a bigger movie I could be in. I like the fact that I can somewhat control my career and not always be a product of Hollywood, because it is a game as well as a business there.
Also, I want to make stories and movies not just for Natives. I don’t want this to be just “a Native American production company”– it’s not about that; it’s about finding talent and stories that appeal to me and hopefully help other artists as well.
