My workday is usually pretty hectic and rarely fits into the constraints of a typical 9 to 5 job so my mind is usually running a mile a minute, scheduling posts to publish, organizing events to cover, and figuring out dozens of other little daily tasks to get through the week. It’s become necessary to multitask so being able to focus solely on a single thing is a luxury that can be difficult to achieve sometimes with all of the distracting noise of my environment.

That brings me to Bose’s new Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. I’ve been using them for a little over a week now, and I have to say that they’ve been great at honing in my focus, whether I’m listening to music while I write my latest review or even if I just need to take a quick break for a moment or two and just be lost in the moment.

The headphones themselves are sleek and sturdy and come packaged in a case that is equally durable. They’re wireless headphones that use Bluetooth technology so naturally I was a little worried about setup and getting it paired with my devices but that was a pretty painless procedure. All I had to do was download the Bose Music app to my phone and then I had full control over getting it synced to most of my devices.I say most because while I was able to connect to my phone with no issues at all, I unfortunately wasn’t able to sync them to my PS4 despite my best attempts. Thankfully Bose includes an audio cable with the headphones so I could still plug them in directly for when I’m gaming or watching a film.

For music, however, they’re absolutely perfect when paired with my phone. By far my favorite feature of the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 is the touch controls embedded into the right headphone. Using swiping gestures, you can adjust the volume, pause or skip tracks, and even answer/decline calls. I love not having to fiddle with my phone to get to the track I want. You can also sync with multiple voice assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice commands as well. It’s all designed so you can put your phone away and focus on whatever task your doing.

I can’t talk about the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 without going over their noise cancelling feature, after all it is in the title of the product. The headphones have 11 levels, with 0 being full transparency as if you’re not wearing headphones at all and 10 which eliminates nearly all exterior noise around you. You can adjust the level either in the Bose Music app for full control or with the touch of a button on the headphones to cycle between 0, 5, and 10. Personally I enjoy having it cranked up all the way to 10 when listening to music or watching films. Sometimes I’ll put the noise cancelling feature on with no sound playing at all and just bask in silence for a moment. It’s a great way to disconnect from all the noise, even for a quick break.

The Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 are available now at Best Buy, and I got to admit that I’m a huge fan of all its features but especially the touch controls. Once you put them on, you’re not going to want to take them off.
