The Buddha Of Suburbia

Based on the novel by Hanif Kureishi, The Buddha of Suburbia follows the story of Karim Amir (Naveen Andrews) and his live in Britain along with his struggles.  That’s about all I got from the TV miniseries. I was not expecting much from a BBC show filmed in the early 90’s. I was interesting in how Naveen Andrews (currently Sayid on Lost) was early on in his career but lost interest quickly. It was extremely boring. There was little to no emotion in the characters and all the visuals were bland. I tried to get into the story but simply couldn’t. The British humor that spread out across the show was not humor at all. It didn’t fit anywhere in the story and was out of place. Another thing wrong was that there were many moments that were weird. Maybe they were going for shock factor but I felt turned away. With no extras besides a track from David Bowe, the composer for the series, there is nothing to warrant a purchase.
