Track Marks

I love The Distillers and I love Brody. Her voice is powerful, raspy, sultry, and full of attitude. Since I am a huge fan of The Distillers and I knew going in that Spinnerette is not going to be like The Distillers I made it a point to listen to the album 4 times in order to make sure I was listening to their music and not just picking out why this was not The Distillers.

1. Ghetto Love 3:32
Brody’s voice is still awesome, but the band is a little sloppy. Heavy guitars but not in a punk or metal way. Her voice sounds a little computerized. The yell she has is still angry; but the singing a little more subdued. Towards the end it starts to get the rough edge back.

2. All Babes Are Wolves 2:28
Upbeat, raspy voice & heavy guitar again. It feels like she is not quite taking advantage of her voice in some parts. Still a pretty decent song for non-main stream rock. I do like the urgency in her voice once the chorus comes around and that is what makes this track stand out from the others.

3. Cupid 4:19
Very interesting bell type
