Will Poulter in Negotiations to Play Pennywise in 'It' Remake

The Chronicles of Narnia and We're the Millers star Will Poulter is in negotiations to play the evil clown Pennywise in New Line's upcoming remake of It, according to Variety.

Like the 1990 miniseries, the remake will adapt Stephen King's famous horror novel into a two-part film helmed by True Detective director Cary Fukunaga. Poulter will play the role Tim Curry made famous in the miniseries. Pennywise is the main antagonist of the novel and is a shapeshifting entitiy that takes the form of an evil clown and preys on local children by changing into whatever phobias they have.

Poulter has been on the rise in recent years, have starred in last year's The Maze Runner and is set to appear opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant later this year. He is set to appear as Pennywise in both It films. The first will focus on a group of kids in their youth, while the second will follow the same kids into adulthood.

Production is set to begin later this summer in New York.
