Netflix Renews 'Mindhunter' for a Second Season

Prepare to further explore the minds of serial killers as Netflix has ordered a second season of David Fincher's Mindhunter. "We need to talk to more subjects," the studio posted to its social media channels today announcing the renewal.

The more subjects the show is referring to no doubt centers around the Atlanta child murders that took place from 1979 to 1981. In an interview with Billboard, Fincher and composer Jason Hill all but confirmed that a second season was already in the works and that they knew exactly where it was heading. “Next year we’re looking at the Atlanta child murders, so we’ll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice," stated Hill. "The music will evolve. It’s intended to support what’s happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons.”

Season 1 was set in 1977 and follows FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they travel around the country interviewing imprisoned serial killers in order to get a better understanding of how their minds work. All 10 episodes of Season 1 are now available to stream on Netflix.
