In 1971 Bill Yoast, a coach with 15 winning years, finds himself demoted to assistant coach when they move Herman Boone in to try and start desegregation. They have different coaching styles, different ways of thinking, and do not start off on a good foot. To top it off they are also dealing with racial tension on their team and in their town. Together they will have to find a way to pull the team together and in the process help put a dent in racism.

There is so much more to this movie than just football. It is inspiring and touching. However the director’s cut fails to bring that out. On the previous release there were 6 deleted scenes, Denzel Becomes Boone feature, Beating the Odds feature, the ABC Special on Remember the Titans, and commentary by the real Herman Boone & Bill Yoast along with Jerry Bruckheimer. This new release has the Denzel Becomes Boone feature, Beating the Odds feature, and the ABC Special. It does NOT have the commentary. Also it now only has 4 deleted scenes. Why because the other 2 deleted scenes were added to this film making it 7 minutes longer. I hate to say it but this is a far worse release than the previous. I would much rather have the commentary and the options to watch the deleted scenes.
