Artist: AM Taxi Album: We Don't Stand A Chance Members: Adam Krier, Jason Schultejann, Chris Smith, John Schmitt, Luke Schmitt Genre: Rock Label: Virgin Records Tracks: 11 Type: LP Release Date: June 8, 2010 Rating: ( )Grade: C AM Taxi is another average alternative rock band. Heavy drums? Check. Rocking guitar solos? Check. Tone deaf vocals? Double check. Honestly, there isn't much that sets them apart from any other band from the same genre. Their latest album, "We Don't Stand A Chance," isn't exactly a reference to it's title but it's not at the top of the charts either. They're a band you would probably hear on any rock station. There not hardcore enough to not be on the radio but then they're too hardcore for the pop stations. Like many alternative groups, they're somewhere in the middle. The vocals come off a little harsh in the sense that lead singer Adam Krier is going one note too high. Sometimes it works with the music but much of the time it sounds forced. AM Taxi is pretty average and their album shows it. It's nowhere near horrible but then again, it's not amazing either. Mix in their album with some other rockers in a playlist and you should be set. Listening to their entire album at once though, and you might be looking at a different story. |
