Atari is an interesting episode which takes the time to humanize Cole and Ramse and instead of just waltzing them and their camaraderie around willy nilly without much back story. It also brings the bad guys into a much brighter light and offers us a much wider glimpse at the timeline Cole and Ramse live in.
In this episode we go back to the timeline where Cole and Ramse are free roaming buddies and not prisoners. The world in which they live is cold and bleak but they find solace in a community that you would expect to find once all of society has fallen into disarray. Enter The West 7.
If you’ve ever wondered why Cole is somewhat of a bad ass or why Ramse sticks so close to him, this episode explains it all. Of course there’s the usual time travel follies, but this is the Cole and Ramse episode which really opens the door to who they are, what’s going on in their seemingly loose prison building, and the functionality of the time machine.
The acting picks up a bit for most and the story is pretty solid. Not so much time travel, just flashbacks and what not. Looks like the show is finding its feet. Definitely an episode to check out.
