A Bad Think is an alternative rock band that was originally formed in Virginia Beach, but they have recently relocated to Los Angeles. The band is headed by former Flock of Seagulls drummer, Michael Marquart. They recently released their 5th studio album, “Sleep,” on June 10th. The songs on this album cover a wide variety of topics such as life, love, hope, and loss.
On this album, the lyrics were emotionally deep and the instrumentals help set the tone for the rest of the album. The vocals were okay, but were not too memorable or spectacular. There were a lot of relatable songs on “Sleep,” but it lacked variety in the tempo of the songs and styles of music. Each song started to feel like the last song, but with different lyrics. I would have liked to see them take more risks and add more variety to give the album a better-rounded feel to it. For those reasons, I am giving this album a “D+.”
