Billy Dee Williams: Let's Misbehave

Let's Misbehave

(Billy Dee Williams)
Release Date:
Tuesday, November 4, 2014

Billy Dee William is best known for playing Lando Calrissian in the “Star Wars” Franchise as well as Harvey Dent in the earlier movie adaptions of “Batman.” He was also the spokesperson for an alcoholic beverage known as “Colt 45” in the late 80’s. However, before all of those iconic contributions to mainstream pop culture, Billy Dee released an album of Broadway songs in 1961. The album was titled “Let’s Misbehave” and recently re-released as a CD.
Billy Dee Williams is very well known for his smooth and relaxing voice, which he showcases across 10 songs on this album. However, he lacks vocal range and sounded like he was singing in the same key for a majority of the CD. I am and have always have been impressed with his talents I acting and voice-over work, but felt there was a lack of variety on “Let’s Misbehave.” On the bright side, the lyrics were good because these are Broadway classics, but I felt Billy Dee did not bring anything extra to the songs. Sorry Billy Dee Williams, but I am going to have to give Lando and “Let’s Misbehave” a “D.”
