I’ve never been a big fan of Iron Butterfly and honestly after listing to Live at the Galaxy 1967. I know part of it was the fact that the album was done in ’67 but the quality was just bad. For an album being released today I would of thought that they would of spent a little more time cleaning up the sound.

I could barley hear the vocals in some of the songs over the instruments which were way to high pitched. A lot of the album just sounds like random noises and screeches from the guitar and I believe an organ. I couldn’t tell where one song ended or began because it was just so much random noise.

Though there were a couple of songs that did sound decent, not enough to make me like the album. Really it was only one or tow songs that I was able to enjoy out of the 12.

If you’re a big Iron Butterfly fan you may like the “raw” sound you get from this album but I would recommend not going for this album. You would be better off buying a studio album rather than this live one.
