Will Ferrell continues to sink further into non-funny territory. Does he “step” up the game with Step Brothers, re-teaming with the director of the hilarious Talladega Nights and Anchorman?
QUALITY:
Faded color, ok sound.
BONUS FEATURES:
Theatrical and unrated versions of the film, commentary, deleted scenes, interviews
The movie falls kind of flat. Reilly takes his character a bit over the top and Ferrell doesn’t take his quite far enough. With Anchorman faring so well with heavy improvisation, I think director Adam McKay relied a little too much on that practice this time around and the actors were trying a little too hard. The quality is a little shoddy but the special features are decent.
