Strange Daze is a band that was formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their musical influences include 3 Doors Down, Collective Soul, and Pearl Jam. They have great melodies like 3 Doors Down, but their instrumentals are more hardcore and can be compared to Avenged Sevenfold. They already have a big fan base and have received lots of critical praise and those in the music industry have taken notice. They are set to release and promote their third album, “Shine Through,” which came out November 11th.
There were so many things I liked about “Shine Through.” I loved everything from the instrumentals to the vocals to the lyrics and the variety. This is a very talented band that has a bright future ahead of them. The instrumentals and the songs had a lot of good variety and ranged from hard-hitting rock to a great rendition of one of their songs on the piano. Also, the vocals were a perfect complement to the instrumentals and the lyrics were so full of emotion and poetic. There were so many songs I liked on this album, but my favorites were “Welcome/Izabelle's Song” on the piano and “Need You Here” because they showcased the band’s versatility.
I have never heard of this band, but am curious to check out their previous work. They are a very talented band that really knows how to rock. If you like 3 Doors Down, Strange Daze is the band for you and a total upgrade. For those reasons, I am giving “Shine Through” an “A-.”
