The Feeling is a Pop Rock band from England that has been together since 1995. They released their 4th studio album, “Boy Cried Wolf,” on February 14, 2014. Their musical influences include the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Queen, ABBA, and Metallica. The Feeling has won several awards and they have released several hit songs in England. I would describe their musical style as a mix between The Fray and Keane because they love their melodies, but still have a rock vibe to them.

“Boy Cried Wolf” is a good album, but there are some missing elements that prevent it from being a great album. For instance, the album has very soothing instrumentals and awesome piano and guitar solos, especially on “Fall like Rain,” but the track list lacks variety. Most of the songs are a bit redundant and might be too slow for some people, unless that is what you are looking for. Another point is the lyrics were so emotional and personal that they could even make a robot cry (especially “You’ll See), but I was not impressed with the vocals. The vocals felt too plain and needed something more to make the lyrics even more powerful. However, I thought “I Just Do” was a hilarious song that would made me think about a couple things in my own life.

If the band’s aim for its listeners was to get you to think reflect on life and feel something, this is definitely the album for you. This is not a party album, but it is full of emotion. They do that part well, but I would have liked to see a bit more variety from them and more emotion in the vocals. Other than those issues, I thought this was a good album that you should check out if you like softer rock bands. For those reasons, I am giving “Boy Cried Wolf” a “B.”
