114 Minutes

Unfortunately for Farrelly Brothers fans, this reteaming with Ben Stiller leans more toward the brothers’ Say It Isn’t So rather than There’s Something About Mary.  It has a handful of genuinely funny parts but is overall more forgettable than anything.  In fact, I almost just started writing a review for a different movie, that would have been confusing.

It’s crisp, that’s for sure.  The picture is clear and spotless.  The scene transfers are seemless and don’t scatter as they attempt to catch up with themselves like a lot of high def movies do.  The sound is actually very impressive but kind of wasted on a movie that doesn’t need it.

Commentary, deleted scenes, a gag reel that should be much funnier than it is, the trailer in high def, some featurettes and a few other things that are more annoying than helpful or entertaining round out what is ultimately a filler DVD and the possible nail in the coffin of the once great Farrelly Brothers.  Step aside, Apatow has officially taken the helm as reigning comedy king.
