2 Hours, 7 Minutes

PLOT:
It's a time of death and fear for Europe as they wait for an attack from the Mongol Golden Horde. Ruling Khan is killed by his brother who takes over as Khan and the massive army but after taking control his mother is striken with blindness. Before the Khan can start a war with Europe to end Christianity, Khan must find a healer for his mother. The fate of so many people now rest in the hands of a healer who must help the mother of a killer that's just waiting for his chance to strike out at the surrounding lands.

ACTING:
I normally have a hard time when it comes to knowing how well the actors do in a foriegn movie, especially one that is dubbed over to English. With The Horde I found that the actors seemed to being giving a good performance with their characters. These guys played the evil, ruthless killers quite well and with the decent graphics and the excellent sets, this movie turned out to be a decent movie. These actors had a good idea of what it was like to be there characters and they use that knowledge to make them into real people. I couldn't root for anyone cause they all seemed like they were up to something evil but I did like how they where being shown.

STORY:
I liked this movie even though I had to listen to some bad voice overs with it. When it first started I thought this movie was going to be following what happens in a dynasty that has some internal upheaval. Which it kind of was but then the story developed into a country living in fear of a pending war against a violent group. I had a apprehensive feeling as I watched The Horde expecting something bad to happen and there are some violent moments. One of the problems I had with this movie though was the slow progression. I did enjoy the focus being put on the characters reactions to what was going on but there was unneeded moments being put in the movie that felt like they where just trying to prolong it. I also didn't understand the point of giving the movie a voice over yet still used some subtitles. This feels like a historical movie but I doubt much of it, if any, is actually true or even close to being close to true. Oddly enough, with the random languages and subtitles along with the movie having a slow progression, I was interested in this tale it had. Like I said I doubt any of it is true fact but it's presented in a way where it kind of feels that way.
