“The house at the end of time” is a horror-thriller movie from Venezuela. The movie is about a mother named Dulce (Ruddy Rodríguez), her two kids, and her good for nothing husband. The movie starts by telling the main story and then jumps between two time periods that are 30 years apart. Everything is a bit confusing and hard to follow at first, but are explained as the movie progresses. Everything is connected in some twisted and convoluted way or another.
I understand that this was supposed to be a horror-suspense movie, but did not jump once through the whole movie. There was a bit of suspense, but there was nothing scary about “The house at the end of time.” The acting was well done and I was surprised to see all the plot holes filled by the end of the movie, but the writing in general was far from clever. Overall, the movie was somewhat decent, but felt a little drawn out and could have ended a lot sooner. There are other horror-suspense movies out there that would be more worth your time. For those reasons, I am giving “The house at the end of time” a “D+.”
