Vincent Poag is a singer/songwriter from New York City. His music is a mix between Adult Contemporary and Adult Alternative. His musical influences include Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Billy Joel. His 2nd album, “For the Girls” was released on April 8th. Vincent has been many changes in his life, but he always knew songwriting would forever be his passion and lifelong dream.

The instrumentals on this album were catchy and the strongest aspect of “For the Girls.” However, the vocals were average and the lyrics were mediocre. On some songs, the lyrics felt very juvenile and were very similar to a children’s nursery rhyme. I understand his aim for this album was for more mature audiences, but was confused by the overall tone of the album. I liked the musical side of the album, but felt the vocals and lyrics could have been done differently. For those reasons, I am giving this album a “D+.”
