Artist: "David Arnold, Michael Price" Album: Sherlock: Original Television Soundtrack Members: David Arnold, Michael Price Genre: Soundtrack/Theater Label: Silva America Tracks: 19 Type: LP Release Date: May 10, 2012 Rating: ( )Grade: C “Sherlock” is a British TV show on BBC and revolves around the famous Sherlock Homes and his assistant Dr. John Watson as they both solve numerous mysteries. The show made its TV debut in 2009 and they are working on their 3rd season, which is slated to air in 2013. I had a chance to review the shows soundtrack from the first season, which was composed by David Arnold and Michael Price. Personally, I have never seen the show, but it has received several awards. This CD had 19 tracks, but no words. The tracks were more than likely played in the background during the show. Most of the tracks added to the suspense in the scenes and helped create the mood for the show. Some tracks were more interesting than others. My favorite tracks were “Pink,” “Pursuit,” and “Library Books” because they were fun to listen to and I could only imagine all the action happening during those scenes. The other tracks on this CD were not that interesting or memorable. This soundtrack did what it was supposed to do, which was adding emotion to the scenes. However, if you are not a fan of soundtracks, this may not be the CD for you. I was split on whether I liked this soundtrack of not, but I know fans of the show would love it. For those reasons, I am giving this CD a “C.” |
