With the release of Toy Story 3 eminent it would be safe money to bet we’d be getting another soundtrack filled with great songs that accompany the film. Or would it?

So far no listings for a Toy Story 3 soundtrack. I’m wracking my brain to remember if there was even that much music in the film, new music anyway, as I recall hearing a tune from the original Toy Story in Toy Story 3. Alas all I find at Amazon is a Disney Songs & Story CD which doesn’t exactly hold true to a soundtrack and this CD, Toy Story Favorites, which is a sampler containing two songs from each of the three Toy Story films. Sadly I was let down by this very short 6 track CD which basically contains four songs from the first two films, a Spanish version of You’ve Got A Friend In Me (funny but its still the same song) performed by The Gipsy Kings and a new Randy Newman song. If you own the first two soundtracks it might be a better deal to pay the two bucks to get the only two new songs from iTunes if they catch your ear and wait patiently for Disney to inevitably release something more grand for Toy Story 3. If your extremely moved by the film and want yourself a memento $6.99 (Amazon) sounds about right for a Disney Souvenir. Liner notes are simple enough and to toss something positive into the mix they do fold out to make a small horizontal poster you can hang in your kids room or in your room depending on your taste.
