Title: Fascination Coral Reef 3D Genre: Documentary, Family Director: Rene Schoepfer Studio: Universal Studios Runtime: 45 minutes Release Date: January 29, 2013 Format: BLU-RAY Discs: 1 Rating: ( )Grade: C- “Fascination Coral Reef 3D” is a 3D documentary focusing on coral reefs and the ocean life that are dependent on them. They cover interesting facts about numerous underwater creatures such as lionfish, manta rays, puffer fish, and the different types of coral that help them survive. The narrating was very well done and the music was very upbeat throughout the documentary. “Fascination Coral Reef 3D” included lots of great visuals and fish that I have not even heard of before, but I learned a lot about. However, there were several issues with “Fascination Coral Reef 3D” that lowered its rating. For instance, as good as the visuals were, the 3D was not always the best and this documentary caused me to go cross-eyed or have lots of eye strain. I know there are a lot of frantic and random moments under the sea, but the actual documentary was a bit slow-paced and had some moments where nothing was said or no actual ocean activity was being shown. There were a lot of filler scenes for such a short documentary at 45 minutes. To make matters worse, they did no included any bonus features. “Fascination Coral Reef 3D” was a bit below average and there are better underwater documentaries for you to watch instead. For those reasons, I am giving “Fascination Coral Reef 3D” a “C-.” |
