First off let me start by saying that the 3D cover for The Naked Gun Blu-Ray is fantastic (and mesmerizing). I can stare at that thing all day long. Unfortunately the film itself isn’t so great. Right as soon as you turn it on and you see the Paramount logo slopped over with grain and tiny white specks popping up here and there, well, it doesn’t bode well for the film.

QUALITY:
The start of the film is very ugly, but don’t worry to much as it seems to find correction a bit later on. The picture is super grainy, it has a bit of a wobble, and the color is plain meh. What can you figure right? This is a film from 1988 and was never that pretty to begin with. Fortunately as the film moves on the picture becomes a bit brighter, detail comes into focus, though color never really truly arrives. Grain is present throughout unfortunately but at times its not so noticeable. So while the film has never looked better its never the quality you’d hoped it would have been on Blu-Ray, but also just on par with a lackluster Blu-Ray release for a film this old. Audio is front heavy, as to be expected, but Nielsen’s deep comical voice booms, dialogue is crisp, and it’s a good blend of everything together to make it at least an enjoyable audio experience.
