Sonic Spin-Off Series ‘Knuckles’ Punches His Way Through First Trailer

Written by Matt Rodriguez

After making his live-action debut in 2022’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Knuckles the Echidna is getting his own spin-off series on Paramount+ this April. The first trailer has arrived, and it showcases Idris Elba’s return as the hotheaded red brawler.

Taking place between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the follows Knuckles as he trains Green Hills deputy sheriff Wade Whipple (Adam Pally) to be a true Echidna warrior while also fighting off a former colleague of Dr. Robotnik who wants to steal his power. Check out the trailer below:

The six-episode series stars Idris Elba as Knuckles and will also feature guest appearances from Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails. Game of Thrones‘ Rory McCann joins the cast as the series’ villain The Buyer. It was confirmed earlier this month that Jim Carrey would be returning as Robotnik for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 so maybe we’ll also get a cameo appearance from him towards the end of the series as it leads directly into the sequel. That film is scheduled for release on December 20, 2024.

Knuckles will premiere on April 26, 2024 on Paramount+.
