The One Where I Try Central Perk Coffee from ‘Friends’

Written by Matt Rodriguez

How You Doin’? I’m doing fantastic because in case you didn’t know, today September 29 is National Coffee Day. Granted for someone like me, every day is coffee day. It’s engrained as part of my routine; I wake up and almost immediately start the brewing process. So when I learned that Warner Bros. was introducing a line of Central Perk coffee from Friends I couldn’t resist getting my hands on some beans. Could I be anymore excited? Absolutely not!

Based on the iconic coffee shop location from the show, Central Perk Coffee offers three varieties; How You Doin’? (medium roast), Pivot Blend (medium dark roast), and We Were On A “Coffee” Break (dark roast). I was sent the How You Doin’? blend to try for myself. The flavor profile includes chocolate with notes of lemon, blackberry, and honey. I opted to brew this morning’s coffee using a pour over method. The taste was smooth and subtle. There was a sweetness thanks to the chocolate and honey while the lemon added a hint of tanginess to the finish. I drink my coffee black, but I’m sure no matter how you brew or drinks yours you’ll end up with a delicious cup of coffee. That is, unless you happen to be Rachel. Then I suggest leaving the coffee making to someone else.

Central Perk Coffee offers their blends in both whole bean, ground, and even single serve pod styles to suite all your coffee needs. They are available for one-time purchase or as a subscription and have coffee delivered straight to your doorstep every 15, 30, 60, or 90 days. At around $17 per 10oz bag, it’s a little on the pricier side of the average but still not too expensive. For Friends fans, that’s a small price to pay to start your mornings off with nice cup of Central Perk Coffee.

Cheers to National Coffee Day!
