The animation here is quite nice providing a wide array of bright beautiful colors, a lot of imagination as the setting is under water but the locations mirror above water landscapes, and while the show does attempt to get your kids to interact with the characters it doesn’t over do it. At times pictures will pop up and the characters will ask what it is but it’s only a five second lapse before a character pops up and says what it is. For the rest of the show it’s more of a proper cartoon that has a storyline that’s filled with adventure, action, and quite a few laughs.

Bubble Puppy’s Fin-Tastic Tale finds Bubble Puppy (of course) enjoying a nice day outside when the evil witch (played by Wanda Sykes; Evan Almighty, Rio, Over The Hedge) uses her green bubble concoction to turn him into a frog. The Bubble Guppies must fine a way to change Bubble Puppy back but that is the least of their worries when the magic mirror shows up to let them know the witch has plans to turn everyone into a frog with her latest scheme. In order to stop her the Bubble Guppies must traverse the fairy tale world and collect items from the likes of Red Riding Hood, Jack and The Beanstalk, and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Can they change back Bubble Puppy to his original form and more importantly can they stop the evil witch from carrying out her wicked plans?

The release comes with two bonus episodes; Bubble Puppy and Bubble Bites. In Bubble Puppy we get to see how Bubble Puppy came to be the Bubble Guppies pet. It’s a cute episode that features quite a few puppies and when it comes to puppies it’s a win/win with kids. Bubble Bites has the Bubble Guppies looking to buy their pet Bubble Puppy his favorite snacks, Bubble Bites, unfortunately there is only one box left in the store and one other customer wants it as well. The only way to decide who gets it is by holding a contest. Who will get the bubble bites?

Special features include Karaoke Music Video’s, Song Selections which allows you to jump right into an episode on a song, and Where’s Bubble Puppy? DVD Game. Where’s Bubble Puppy is a fun game but there are only three options which means you can only play the game once before it becomes redundant. Still, the show is very entertaining and fun plus you get two bonus episodes and some karaoke songs. Well worth the cost of purchase for the little ones. Enjoy.
