Against Me! has two vocal tracks; normal and metal. It’s difficult to say which is better because they both have their pluses and minuses. For instance, normal flows well with the melodies and metal gives the feeling of a soccer chant, especially if you listen to ‘Slurring the Rhythms.’

 

The majority of their songs don’t last longer than a few minutes so everything goes rather quickly. Occasionally, the lyrics don’t quite match the speed of the music so there is this awkward rush of words that spews forth in order to play catch up.

 

The Original Cowboy is fresh and exciting, although it doesn’t quite give you the rock fix you’re looking for. The mix of both acoustic and electric make for one unique album that will be over before you even know it.
