Official Site

You Again comes off as a novelty placing generations of female actresses across the board to pull in a wide spectrum of female viewers. For the younger audience you have Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Odette Yustman (And Soon The Darkness), for the slightly older female audience two powerhouses in Jamie Lee Curtis (True Lies) and Sigourney Weaver (Avatar, which gets a whole new meaning after watching the bonus features), and for the senior females you have Betty White (just about everything these days). Does the novelty work? In some cases, but the film’s PG rating hurts its range, and well, the story is awful. At least the Blu-Ray transfer is spot on.

QUALITY:
Aside from some very unnoticeable wide out shots that go a bit on the weak side the BD transfer is perfect. Textures are solid, skin pigmentation is organic, clarity is smooth and definition is sharp. This release manages to stay loyal to the source material while giving a solid boost to color and blocking those inconstancies such as grain and any sign of flickering or haloing is non-existent. So, if you loved this film in theaters your going to be blown away by how fantastic its going to look in your home theater. Audio is mostly front heavy though which takes away from that cinematic experience but is acceptable for dialogue and the films soundtrack.

BONUS FEATURES:
My favorite feature on the BD release. With over twenty minutes of deleted scenes its a treat for the fans. Following Flickman: On The Set With the Director is a passable feature. We get it Flickman you’re the director but you don’t need to crowd the bonus features section, every one of them. Blooper Dance Party is just outtakes. Some funny, some not funny.

The best bonus features in the supplemental section are without a doubt Ask the Cast and Funny or Die. Ask the cast is a very short one minute and eleven second skit where the cast read some questions sent in by fans in which they all take turns giving little snippets of advice. Betty White steals the show here. A must see bonus. Funny or Die is a three plus minute skit with the female cast as they get into an argument about bragging rights. Sigourney Weaver takes the spotlight here. While some of the other bonus features make the grade these two make it worth your time to track down this BD at the Redbox or if you liked the film to purchase it. As always final judgment is yours. Enjoy.
