Henry Rollins: What I Like About...
RANDOM FACTS:

Henry has 18 books in publication

In our first installment of 'What I Like About..." punk legend and outspoken political hero Henry Rollins checks in with us about his 5 favorite things in the world right now.  Mostly music, a little comedy and a little television, Henry crosses his T's and dots his I's.  Ladies and gentlemen, Shakefire.com presents Henry Rollins in What I Like About...

CD: LE TAMBOURS DE BRAZZA - AHAANDO
----Kind of a hard CD to find but worth the time if you do.  I’ve been playing it a lot on (The Henry Rollins show on IFC).  They are a drummer group from the Congo Republic and are so different from anything you are going to hear on mainstream radio.  They are called Les Tambours de Brazza and the album is called Ahaando.  It’s like 19 drummers just whooping your ass.  It’s so funky, it’s so great.  I would definitely recommend this album to anyone looking for a great CD and great music to just really kick back.

CD: PATTON OSWALT - FEELING KINDA PATTON
----I’m liking this record a lot.  I actually interviewed him for (The Henry Rollins show on IFC).  I think he’s just a funny motherfucker.  He’s is Bill Hicks-ish in that he is not afraid and he takes his comedy anywhere.  I enjoy him very much and play his record frequently.

TELEVISION: LOU DOBBS (CNN)
----I really admire Lou Dobbs.  He talks about shit, it’s like he’s the only guy that’s freaking out, as far as I can tell, when Unocal nearly sold themselves to China.  He was going “Am I crazy or is this a really bad idea” and I’m yelling at the screen “It’s a bad idea, go get ‘em Lou!”

CD: THE FALL - FALL HEADS ROLL
----The new Fall album is wonderful.  I’m a Fall fanatic but I think that this is a really good album and that Mark is doing some really good right now.

CD: FLIN FLON - DIXIE
----This is a microscopic band on a label called Teen Beat, a little indie label out of Arlington, Virginia.  It’s headed up by a guy named Mark Robinson who was in a kind of well-known 80’s/90s band called Unrest, really cool band.  But, he puts out stuff all the time and one of his many side-projects is called Flin Flon.  They just released this neat little record and I play it almost every day.
