According to Twilight Lexicon, Borders isn't the only hosting New Moon DVD midnight release parties! WalMart 's on the wagon as well. They've also opened up New Moon Kiosks.

"We have been told that in 3500 Walmarts across the nation New Moon mini stores/kiosks will be opening tomorrow (March 10th). Each store will have a New Moon Hotspot located behind the accessories area. Some store will feature 2 New Moon locations with the additional location being in the electronics area.
These hotspots will be where Walmart will be hosting their DVD midnight release parties on March 20th. Unlike corporate parties in the past, Walmart seems to know what fans want. Exclusively we have inside information on some of the party plans….
The first 100 in line will be getting special goodies.

Encompassing Eclipse

So, I know you've viewed the new Eclipse trailer at least a good 10 times. Let's go a little deeper!
HollywoodCrush has given the Eclipse trailer a barely passing grade of a C+ They expound on the lowly grade this way,

"For starters, Bella wants to turn into a vampire so she can live the rest of her eternal days with Edward. But Edward doesn't want Bella to become a vampire because he knows the repercussions of that decision and he loves her too much to let that happen. This idea is emphasized by shots of Bella with her dad and mom and the narration over the scene saying, "After a few decades, everyone you know will be dead."

And then there's Jacob to the rescue, saying, "You wouldn't have to change for me, Bella." He even challenges Edward with, "You have to consider the idea that I might be better for her than you are." And it's the truth: Jacob is the smarter choice for Bella, but he's not the one she wants.

Then toss in some shots of the Volturi commenting that Bella was supposed to be a vampire by now, and our first shot of Bryce Dallas Howard in a horrendously curly red wig — almost bad at the one used on Kristen Stewart to cover up her Joan Jett 'do. You'd think after the mishap that was Taylor Lautner's wig in "New Moon" that Summit would have hired someone a bit better at wig-making this time around, but I guess not.

But the main problem with this trailer — the first trailer — is that it's for the fans, not the general public. And yes while the "Twilight" fan base is enough to break records in the opening weekend of its release, it's not enough to sustain the films to more than double that box office draw in the weeks after (yes, I am referencing "New Moon" here).

And "Eclipse" really does have the possibility of drawing in a wider audience. I have a feeling Summit is going to miss out on an opportunity to convince the rest of the film community that "The Twilight Saga" is more than just homage to the fans of the series, but they have already started out on a bad foot. Plus, even for the fans, there wasn't enough to really go nuts over. A kiss maybe?"

What grade would you give the Eclipse trailer? Was there anything in the trailer you didn't see that you really hoped would be there? Let us know in the comments!

I definitely agree with them that it was a more fandom oriented trailer, but hopefully the second trailer will be for a more general audience....with some wicked fight scenes. Unfortunately, it looks we'll be waiting quite a while to see a another Eclipse trailer. Eclipsemovie.org lets us down easy:
"Gossip Cop spoke with a rep for Summit Entertainment who told us there will (of course) be a new trailer at some point, but right now there’s “no talk… nothing in the works.” So it looks like Twilight fans will have to make do for now with the trailer being shown before Remember Me"

Did you notice in the first shot, that Edward's put a ring on it?

You can purchase a replica of Bella's engagement ring (APPROVED by Stephenie Meyer) yourself! The Twilight Lexicon tells you how:

"The ladies at Infinite Jewelry have gone on a Pre-Eclipse sale offering the Official Bella’s Engagement ring for $20 off the regular price. Given that the ring in the trailer looks very much like the ring Infinite Jewelry designed with the guidance of Stephenie Meyer, this would be the perfect time for fans to grab this key piece to dressing up like Bella in the films. The sale extends to other items at their site as well."
One thing I'm sure everyone noticed was Victoria. Once played by Rachelle Lefevre is now acted by Bryce Dallas Howard.
EclipseMovie.Org asks the tough questions:
"Due to supposed schedule conflicts, Rachelle was removed from the Saga. Now that we have finally gotten an official look at Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria, what do you think of her in that role?

We only have seen a small glimpse of her as Victoria. However, going by what we have seen — have any of you changed your mind on where you stand on the subject?

Those who were all for the change (not really bothered by it, aka Team Summit) — do you still feel the same? Those who were completely against the change — have you changed your mind, and accepted Bryce as Victoria?"

I think Bryce just doesn't look as scary, fierce, & feral as Rachelle did, but I am aware she's quite a talented actress. Its too bad we don't get to see more of her in the trailer. Which Victoria do you like best? Rachelle or Bryce? Comment below!

Kristen Stewart will soon join Stephenie Meyer and Robert Pattinson in the ink of BlueWater Comics. MTV Reports,

First it was Lady Gaga on the cover of Bluewater Productions’ new line of “Fame” biography comics, then it was “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson. Now Pattinson’s “Twilight” co-star, Kristen Stewart, will make her debut as a comic book cover girl — and we have your exclusive first look.

Written by Kim Sherman (who also penned the Robert Pattinson “Fame” comic) with interior art by Warren Martineck and covers by Juanmar Studios and Randy Green, “Fame: Kristen Stewart” promises to “show readers the depth residing in this young woman and the roles she’s beautifully tackled through a series of spot shots, pinups and word art.” The 32-page comic hits shelves in June.

Chaske Spencer (Sam, leader of the wolf pack) had a shoot and interview with Coco Eco Magazine

“New Moon’s” reigning werewolf Sam Uley, confidante to Bella Swan and enemy of immortal Edward Cullen in the Twilight series, Spencer intends to use his fame for something more important than the usual “celebrity as clothing designer, perfumer or bottled water face” avenues.

“I’m not really in to the spotlight. It comes with the job but I’m not comfortable with it. I never have been,” Spencer explained. “I want to shift the focus to bring it to something that needs it very badly. I’m very fortunate in that I’m in a position where I can do that.”

Spencer wants to help his fellow 15,000 Cheyenne River Sioux who have been living on a 2.7 million acre reservation, roughly the size of the state of Connecticut, without electricity or water since January. Spencer wants the Cheyenne River Sioux to get the water infrastructure they were promised over 150 years ago in a public treaty with the Unites States government. On February 1st, 2010 the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe was forced to declare a state of emergency after severe ice storms and a below zero wind chill devastated the reservation, toppling more than 3000 power poles and leaving 13,000 people with no power, heat or water. Although some private corporations have helped with supplies, no one in the US government and few outside of Montana have heard or cared about the Cheyenne River Sioux’ desperate situation."

That's all for this week! Come back next Thursday for more pic spam, rumors, & all the news that's fit to link to! Have fun with your New Moon DVDs this weekend :D
