An Eclipse clip!

An Eclipse teaser trailer spoof gets approved by David Slade!

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Muse would not be on the Eclipse sound track *sad face*, but now Twilighters Anonymous says that could be wrong!

TA has a reporter who has been covering events down at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas all week. Well today that reporter happened to find themselves in conversation with informed sources from Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. The source has confirmed that Muse will indeed be on the Eclipsesoundtrack.I really do hope it's true. I remember the first time I read the series (yes, the first time, there were more times) I could definitely hear the dramatic music of Muse being a perfect soundtrack.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Soundtrack and The Twilight Saga: EclipseThe Official Illustrated Movie Companion are both available for pre-order on Amazon.

You've probably watched the Eclipse teaser trailer a few dozen times by now, going over ever detail with a fine toothed comb & a copy of Eclipse by your side, but did you notice what Team Twilight saw?

Team Twilight caught onto the fact that the clip featured a flash of Edward Cullen with red eyes. A closer inspection of the image reveals that he is not only red-eyed but also apparently wearing a Volturi crest necklace much like those worn in New Moonby Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower, et al.
A commentator to the blog scoured the book to find that there is a sequence in the story on Page 305 that might explain the origin of the moment.

“In Aro’s head he saw me at his one side and Alice at his other,” Edward Cullen says.

Behind the scenes of New Moon

How did New Moon's DVD release fair against its predecessor Twilight? Summit released some pretty surprising information

Los Angeles, CA  March 23, 2010 – Summit Entertainment announced today that the home entertainment release of the studio’s action-packed, modern day vampire love story THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON sold just over 4 million DVD units in its first weekend of release.  The tally surpasses the first weekend sales of TWILIGHT in 2009 which sold 3.8 million DVD units, and went on to be the top selling DVD title of the year with 9.2 million units sold...

Summit Entertainment’s Co-Chairmen Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger stated, “Once again the incredibly dedicated fans of the TWILIGHT SAGA came out in massive numbers this weekend for the opportunity to be one of the first take home the second movie in the series.  As we have said all along, the fans are what make this franchise and we once again thank them for their support.

The support that we have received from our retail partners in accommodating the incredible demand for the title has been nothing short of amazing,” said Steve Nickerson, Summit’s President of Home Entertainment.  “The ground we have broken with in-store partnerships and the availability of this title has been a positive influence on the retail DVD business.”

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, directed by Chris Weitz and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, was released in theatres on November 20, 2009 and has since grossed over $705 million worldwide. "

I hope you all have YOUR copy of New Moon, because according to the Twilight Examiner, some stores have been experiencing a shortage of New Moon DVDs!

"Out of 3 department stores and 2 smaller video stores, only 2 stores had 10 copies or more. The rest were out and expecting more Monday or Tuesday. Other stores, after calling around are rationing their Twilight DVD's selling only so many per day so that customers who come in have a chance to purchase it as well."

Lykke Li has released a new video for her song "Possibility" from the New Moon soundtrack. Definitely one of my favorite sad songs. If you don't have the soundtrack, go get it! It's amazing!

You might've noticed, while viewing your New Moon DVD that there aren't any deleted scenes (only extended ones!) Well, Chris Weitz gave an answer and a confession to the NY Daily News:

"I'm basically a big, fat liar," Weitz tells NBC's PopcornBiz. "I put it out there that there are deleted scenes, but I just realized there aren't. It was an honest mistake."

The filmmaker only recently realized that "Twilight's" production company, Summit, will be spreading the series extras across several DVD releases.

"I don't want to get Twilight fans banging down my door demanding deleted scenes," Weitz says, adding that the slow release was a marketing choice. Weitz admitted that he believes Summit made the decision to profit more heavily from subsequent DVD releases.

Breaking Dawn Buzz
MTV sat down with Chris Weitz & Nikki Reed during their New Moon press junket & asked them about the rumors of big name directors Gus Van Sant, Soffia Coppola, & Bill Condon being courted by Summit:

Nikki Reed, however, was left out of that information loop and apparently was in some form of media blackout, because when MTV News spoke with her last night at the "New Moon" DVD/Blu-ray release party in Santa Clarita, it was the first time she heard about the list.

"I was trying to ask them earlier today, and they wouldn't give me anything," she said. "But all the directors that you mentioned, I mean, that would be fantastic, both [Van Sant and Coppola]. Either one. I mean, we would be honored."

"New Moon" director Chris Weitz echoed her sentiments, saying the Coppola choice was an "interesting idea" and that Van Sant directing the film(s) "would be bitchin'."

There wasn't much more to speak of on the "Breaking Dawn" front, though, because as Reed confirmed, there's no new news out there. "I would love to talk about 'Breaking Dawn' because I would love to know what's going on," she said.

"All I know is that hopefully something is going to happen, and I can't wait to hear about it, because I am just as anxious as you and everybody else. We just don't know anything yet." Both she and Weitz did agree on the debate over whether "Breaking Dawn" should be one movie or two. "I don't see how you could possibly make 'Breaking Dawn' into one film," Reed said, and Weitz agreed: "I think [two films] is the right thing to do."

Those three aren't alone, however!

According to Female First, Floria Sigismondi, director of The Runaways (starring TwiStars Kristen Steward & Dakota Fanning), says that she'd be interested in taking on Breaking Dawn. It'd be a bit of a reunion for the three!
What do you think? Do you have any directors in mind that might be suited better for Breaking Dawn? What do you think about the 3 names chosen? And should Breaking Dawn be filmed as two movies or one? Let us know your thoughts below!

Bothell News caught up with Twilight Saga screen writer Melissa Rosenberg and picked her brain about Breaking Dawn:

Do you get any feedback from the fans when you, for example.. cut certain scenes?

MR: “I have a fan site, and the fans will weigh in and say wow! you’ve cut too many things out.. or say I’ve done a fantastic job. They are very kind on my site, there are other sites I know that I don’t read, because I can’t handle that kind of intensity. You can’t make all the fans happy, you try to make as many as possible happy.”

How is that going to be a challenge for the last one? (’Breaking Dawn’) because as you know, that’s the big one.

MR: “It’s the big one, it’s gonna be a big challenge, and I guarantee you that not all of the fans will be happy, and I guarantee you some of them will be.
You have to give up the ideal of making everybody happy, it’s just not gonna happen, but you hope you make the majority happy. Again, for that last book it is about taking that specific character Bella on her journey. It’s a big journey, it’s a massive change for her, and you hope to realize that.”

What did director Chris Weitz bring to ‘New Moon’ that you think was valuable to the series?

MR: “He was so good. He opened up the franchise. He opened it into this sweeping epic story. Twilight was a very intimate personal movie. it was a small movie, it had almost an independent feel to it. Chris made it into a beautiful spectacle, he really expanded it, expanded the world of it.”

Going back to ‘Breaking Dawn’, how far along are you in the planning, with production coming up pretty soon?

MR: “It’s coming up very soon, it’s all deep into the discussions and working on the story, and figuring out what it’s gonna be… we’re deep in the middle of it.”

Any word on when it will “officially” be green-lit?
